Cat Calls...

...at the grocery store.

Yeah, a man whistled at me as I walked out of the grocery store this evening. Granted, it was the "ethnic" grocery store, but still...while I'm flattered that you found me attractive (or was it the ribs I had in the bag?), I was a bit nervous. After all, I was alone, walking briskly towards my car at dusk and my arms were loaded with grocery bags.

OK, so it was only two bags, but I could have totally taken someone out with my Korean short ribs and Asian pears.

I have to tell you that right after college I lived and worked in the Los Angeles area (I am a Midwest gal). I didn't realize it but a guy must have followed me home and then went back to the store and bought some grapes because he had seen that I had bought grapes. Trust me it was one of the most frightening experiences when I opened the door (Thank god I had locked the screen door) and he said that he wanted to ask me out on a date.
Let's just say I am glad that my cousins (two male cousins) came over just at that time and got him to leave.
I have been much for apprehensive since then. I don't open the door to my house except if I know someone is coming over. (this was quite some time ago).

I'm just like you. I get a little on edge when things like that happen.

And I'm sure you could have been lethal with them ribs and pears :)

i still hate when guys hit on you when you're pumping gas. its not an enjoyable experience at all just awkward. today, i had some older african american gentleman tell me i was a nice, pretty white girl. still not sure how to take that. i was their waitress. really what could i say, so i just laughed awkwardly.
