Sectumsempra

That blasted curse {thanks Severus Snape} will be all I hear these next few days.

We saw "Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince" tonight {don't worry...there won't be any spoilers here}. We were supposed to go see it on Sunday, but...well...it was just easier to be lazy on Sunday.

Aidan asked a zillion questions the whole time...so many that the group of 'tweens sitting down the row from us kept saying, "Sssshh!" That group of kids sorta aggravated me, but I also remember being their age and going to the movies, so...

At any rate, my six year old son knew more about Harry Potter than they did {there WAS a kissing scene involving Harry and one of the 'tweens proclaimed, "Oh, it's Harry's first kiss" to which my son promptly replied in his loud whisper, "No, he kissed Cho Chang in "Order of the Phoenix!" That's my boy!}.

Anyways...

I'm a bit disappointed with the movie I have mixed feelings about the movie & I feel kind of guilty for admitting that. Don't get me wrong...I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but it wasn't what I was expecting & it didn't really follow the book entirely {and I've read the book quite a few times}. But, nevertheless, my appetite for Harry Potter has been satisfied and I'm looking forward to the two-part ending {ya know, since they're splitting the last book...Deathly Hallows...into two movies}.

For those who have seen "Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince" please tell me what you thought...

I agree that it was different from the book. BUT I read the book so long ago that I forgot the details. That almost made it easier to enjoy the movie-I wasn't comparing the movie to the book. I can't believe there are just 2 movies left!

I'm not going to lie. I like it a little more now that I heard the story about your son setting those kids straight!

The hubs (the "child" I currently have who is obsessed with Harry) and I did enjoy it, for the most part. The books are always better.

I just get so bummed when they leave out the parts of the books I liked the best in the movies.

i was dissapointed by the movie. i mean it was amusing. but, one thing i do appreciate about a series that goes on as long as this one will is that it is possible to watch each movie and take it as its own entity without having to have necessarily watch any other movies in the series. however, this movie did not seem to have a real ending. it left me confused that that was the end. the lights came up leaving me with a feeling that there was no resolution. i know there will be more, but they've always done a good job of resolving something while leaving you anxiously awaiting the next movie.
now, i've heard lots of kerfuffle from several sources about how the movie is completely unlike the books. i don't read the books as they are simply not my style, so i can't speak on that subject.
i thought about writing a review on my blog, but was concerned with how to do it without spoiling it for anyone(not like one of my friends didn't spoil it by telling me key info the day before. and, i still want to kill him for that.) you did fab, though.
