Reading...

So, the first book club meeting went well. Very well. There were just four of us, but we still managed to have great discussions about religion, a woman's role, motherhood, etc. Of course, we also relished every second of the wine drinking & snack munching, too!

September is nearly upon us & I will be hosting our next book club meeting. I'm looking forward to yet another evening with the girls. I am even more excited about reading this book:

The Septembers of Shiraz by Dalia Sofer

I am looking forward to reading this book and I am curious to see where our conversations & discussions will lead us.

If you were participating in a book club, which books would you suggest & why?

I haven't heard of this book. You'll have to let us know how you like it!!

I've never been a part of a book club but my favorite book is Redeeming Love. Have you read it?? If not, you should!

I'm part of a book club. A lot of the women in it like Jodi Piccoult. I'm not a big fan of her novels - so those are rough months for me.

I'm looking up the book you picked now - it may go on the read list for me!

I just read "The Wednesday Sisters" and would love to pass that on to others. It was a book about women in the 60's and 70's coming to terms with what a "womans role" was during the bra burning times. Was just great to read how women adapted then.

And since I loved your last recommendation of book so much, I might have to go out and buy this one!

I've heard The Secret Holocaust Diaries is a good one. It's on my book list, for sure.

I want to join a local book club. It would force me to read more. I always want to and then things get in the way. It sounds like you ladies have a great time when you meet up :)
